Our Story

BEACH BUNGALOW CLOTHING was born on the salt-washed boardwalks of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where the rhythm of the tide sets the pace of the day and nobody is ever in a hurry. Our founders grew up just steps from the Atlantic, spending mornings surfing before school and evenings watching the sun melt into the Intracoastal. When they went looking for clothing that matched that slow, sun-soaked way of life — soft enough to lounge in, breathable enough for ninety-degree afternoons, and good-looking enough for dinner on Flagler Avenue — they kept coming up empty. The "beach" clothing on offer was either flimsy resort-shop merchandise that fell apart after one wash, or overpriced designer pieces that felt out of place with sand between your toes.

So in 2019 they decided to make their own. They started small, screen-printing a handful of organic cotton tees in a garage two blocks from the pier, testing fabrics against the real test of coastal living: heat, humidity, salt water, and a washing machine that ran constantly. The first dozen designs sold out at a local farmers market in a single weekend. Friends asked for more. Their friends asked for more. Within a year, a garage hobby had grown into a genuine coastal clothing label with a loyal following up and down the Florida coast.
